What is Compassion House?

Compassion House offers low-cost housing and other aid to women with children. Aid includes personal and financial counseling and life skills training. We share God’s love through personal relationships with their support team, while helping them minimize future reliance on public assistance. Our goals are to help abused families achieve self-sufficiency and to involve community volunteers in addressing the problems of abuse and homelessness.

What We Do

What We DoCompassion House operates “transitional housing” for low-income families seeking to rise out of troubled  or past circumstances and achieve self-sufficiency. State law requires that we  limit residency to two years. Our units are all 3-bedroom, so we focus on single mothers with two or more children.

Once the family is stabilized in comfortable housing, we provide the support required to re-build their life, overcome past troubles and develop effective life habits.
We operate from a Christian philosophy of caring for those in need. While we are a faith-based organization, we do not consider spiritual beliefs, gender, age, race, education, or disabilities when working with clients.

Help Needed
(1) We also have a pressing need for support team volunteers. Put your time and talents to use!
(2) In addition, we are seeking a tech-savvy volunteer to help our residents with their computers. It will not involve repair, only answering occasional questions and troubleshooting.
♥ Please submit a Volunteer Application Form if you are able to help.
